Do you have a PRSA / Personal Pension?
PRSAs (Personal Retirement Savings Accounts) and Personal Pensions (also known as Retirement Annuity Contracts) are pension savings accounts, normally paid for by personal contributions. In some circumstances, employers may also contribute into an individuals PRSA. These arrangements provide a tax-free lump sum, within certain limits, and a pension or other benefits at retirement. They are individual defined contribution pension arrangements.
PRSAs and Personal Pensions can be obtained directly from financial services companies such as life assurance companies and through financial advisers.
The value of the ultimate benefits payable depends on the amount of contributions paid, the investment return achieved less any fees and charges, and the cost of buying the benefits.
